The much-anticipated budget session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly is scheduled to begin on February 16, marking a pivotal moment for the state’s fiscal planning and development agenda. This session will unfold in two distinct phases, allowing for comprehensive discussions on key policies and allocations.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also holds the Finance portfolio, will present the general budget for the financial year 2026-27. Emphasising the state’s growth trajectory, the budget is expected to outline strategic investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other sectors to propel Odisha towards sustainable development.
Government sources indicate that preparations are underway to ensure approximately 30 working days across both phases, facilitating thorough debates, question hours, and legislative proceedings.
