“India’s Gen Z Believes in BJP”: PM Modi Cites BMC Victory, Attacks Trinamool Ahead of Bengal Elections

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that India’s Gen Z believes in the BJP’s development model, citing the party’s historic victory in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections as proof of growing public support, especially among young voters.

Addressing a public rally in Malda, PM Modi expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party would replicate its Mumbai success in West Bengal, where assembly elections are due in the coming months.

“The BJP’s landslide win in the BMC elections shows that India’s Gen Z trusts our vision of development,” the Prime Minister said, adding that voters in Bengal are also ready for change.

Launching a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, PM Modi declared in Bengali, “Ei sarkar palano dorkaar” (This government needs to be changed).

He accused the state government of corruption and alleged that it was blocking central welfare schemes from reaching the people. “The Trinamool government is looting public money and stopping development. Bengal can progress only when this government is removed and the BJP comes to power,” he said.

Raising concerns over border security, PM Modi alleged that the Trinamool was shielding infiltrators. “Once the BJP comes to power in Bengal, big action will be taken against infiltration,” he asserted.

The Prime Minister also reassured Matuas and other persecuted communities who have migrated from neighbouring countries, stating that they have nothing to fear. He reiterated that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) safeguards their rights and security.

PM Modi’s remarks come as the BJP intensifies its campaign in West Bengal, aiming to position itself as a strong alternative to the ruling Trinamool Congress ahead of the upcoming state elections.
