The world-renowned Buddhist complex of Ratnagiri-Udayagiri-Lalitgiri, popularly known as Odisha’s **Diamond Triangle**, will host the second edition of the Guru Padmasambhava Prayer Ceremony and the International Buddhist Conference from January 11 to 16, 2026.
Organised by the **Light of Buddha Dharma Foundation International** in collaboration with the Odisha Government’s Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture, and the Department of Tourism, the six-day event will feature daily prayer sessions dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava alongside a two-day international conference on January 14 and 15.
Prominent Buddhist masters, monks, scholars, researchers, historians, and devotees from India and abroad will participate in the gathering. Sessions will explore the life and teachings of Guru Padmasambhava, the spread and preservation of Vajrayana Buddhism, Odisha’s historical contribution to Buddhist civilisation, and the promotion of its ancient monastic sites as global tourism destinations.
A key outcome of the conference will be the publication of a book compiling the discussions and conclusions, aimed at advancing scholarly research on Buddhist texts, initiations, and heritage.
The event builds on the success of the inaugural ceremony held at the same venue in 2025, with the broader goal of encouraging deeper research into Guru Padmasambhava’s legacy while boosting the development and global visibility of Odisha’s Buddhist cultural and tourism sites.
