Jatra actor Piyush Tripathy received a copy of the Bhubaneswar court order in connection with the ongoing stage ban case.
The order also reached Sanjib Padhy, who is a party in the matter.
The court directed both Tripathy and Padhy to appear on January 12. The directive marks a significant step in the legal proceedings that have drawn attention in Odisha’s cultural circles.
Tripathy, known for his role as a villain in Jatra performances, acknowledged receipt of the order. Padhy, owner of Singhabahini, confirmed that he too received the copy and shared details about the upcoming hearing.
The case revolves around restrictions imposed on stage performances. The court order now requires both parties to present their arguments directly before the bench. Legal observers believe the hearing will determine the next course of action in the dispute.
Padhy stated that the matter involves important questions about performance rights and responsibilities. He emphasised that the January 12 appearance will clarify the positions of both sides.
The development has sparked discussions among Jatra enthusiasts and performers, many of whom see the case as a test of artistic freedom and accountability. With the order in hand, both Tripathy and Padhi prepare to face the court and respond to the allegations.
