Alarming emails warned of explosions at the Cuttack District Judge Court, Sambalpur District Court, and Deogarh District Court, shaking Odisha’s judiciary today.

Police and anti-bomb squads rushed to the court premises immediately after the threats surfaced. They secured the areas, launched intensive searches, and examined suspicious spots both inside and outside the complexes.

Moreover, the threatening emails arrived on Thursday morning and spread panic among court staff, lawyers, and litigants. The messages explicitly mentioned plans to blow up the courts, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.

Consequently, police forces surrounded the court complexes. Bomb disposal and dog squads combed the premises for suspicious objects. Crowds of vehicles and people gathered outside, adding to the tension.

Furthermore, police sources confirmed that officers tightened security measures right after the emails arrived. Investigators continue searching, but they have not found any suspicious items so far. Authorities advised people to stay at a safe distance until the situation stabilises.

At the same time, the cyber cell began tracing the origin of the emails. Officers examined the IP address and other technical details to determine whether mischief-makers sent the threats or whether they form part of a larger conspiracy.

In addition, the Director General of Police directed officers to deploy additional forces and strengthen security. Officials noted that similar threats in the past often turned out to be hoaxes, but the latest incident prompted stricter vigilance.

Meanwhile, lawyers’ associations and local residents voiced concern and demanded swift action against those responsible. Police teams conducted checks and implemented enhanced security arrangements at all affected locations.

Finally, the Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) issued a notice. He confirmed that police took cognisance of the matter and launched a thorough investigation. He assured the public that officers continue monitoring the situation closely and urged citizens not to panic but to cooperate with the police in maintaining security and assisting the investigation.
