Tokyo: Rio Olympics silver medalist PV Sindhu on Sunday beat He Bingjiao in straight games to clinch the women’s singles bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
Sindhu defeated He Bingjiao 21-13 and 21-15 in the bronze medal match.
Playing her natural style of aggressive badminton, Sindhu was at her best to outclass He He Bingjiao. She also became only the 2nd Indian athlete in Tokyo Olympics 2020 after Mirabai Chanu to win a medal.
The ace Indian shuttler has become the first Indian woman to win two individual Olympic medals.
On Saturday, Sindhu was up against the world number one Tai Tzu of Chinese Taipei in the semi-final match which she lost 18-21, 12-21.
