The suspect linked to the Brown University shooting has been found dead, reportedly from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to multiple US media reports. Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public following the conclusion of a days-long, multi-state manhunt.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that the suspect was located near a storage facility in Salem, New Hampshire, where a significant police presence was deployed. The operation involved local police agencies and federal authorities, including the FBI.
In an official update, the Methuen Police Department said law enforcement operations in the area had concluded.
“We are confident that there is no ongoing threat to the safety of Methuen residents or the public,” police said, adding that officers would remain on site for several hours while investigators process evidence.

The manhunt began after a shooting at Brown University on December 13, which left two people dead, prompting an intensive search across state lines.
According to reports, investigators received a crucial lead after the fatal shooting of MIT professor Nuno Loureiro at his home in Brookline, Massachusetts. Authorities noted similarities between the vehicle linked to the Brown University shooting and the one associated with the Brookline case.
Although the vehicles initially appeared to have different licence plates, investigators later confirmed they were the same car, with plates allegedly swapped to avoid detection.

The vehicle of interest was eventually flagged by a license plate reader in Salem, New Hampshire. Police converged on the area near a storage unit, where they located the suspect’s abandoned car.
Officials believed the suspect was inside the storage facility. Shortly afterward, authorities confirmed the suspect was deceased.
A law enforcement official told CNN that the suspect had carefully planned movements to evade capture over six days, including avoiding surveillance cameras, altering appearance, and changing licence plates.
