Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida chaired a virtual review meeting with District Project Managers (DPMs) and District Project Coordinators (DPCs) of the Mission Shakti Department.

The meeting assessed the performance of field officers and discussed key issues related to financial activities, banking, and loan recovery. Mission Shakti Director Monika Priyadarshini, senior officials, and departmental representatives joined the session.

Officials reported that during the 2025–26 financial year, 1.67 lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs) accessed ₹10,184 crore through bank linkages. Loan repayment rates improved compared to last year, reflecting stronger financial discipline among SHGs.

The review also covered challenges in credit flow, banking coordination, and grassroots-level economic activities. Discussions included government-to-business (G2B) initiatives that provide SHGs with opportunities to deliver services and products across departments.

Deputy CM Parida directed DPMs and DPCs to ensure quality in SHG activities and products. She advised them to act with greater responsibility and accountability while supporting women entrepreneurs.

The meeting further decided to expand district-level Subhadra Shakti Melas across Odisha. Following the success of the Puri mela during the 36th Konark Festival, similar events will be organised in other districts to showcase SHG products and provide new entrepreneurs with market opportunities.

Parida emphasised that SHGs play a vital role in empowering women and strengthening the rural economy. She urged officials to remain committed to transparency, efficiency, and the mission’s long-term goals.
