In an exhilarating semi-final match at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, New Zealand emerged victorious over South Africa, securing their place in the final. The match saw the Kiwis outplay the Proteas with a commanding performance.

New Zealand, led by captain Mitchell Santner, posted a formidable total of 362/6. Centuries from Rachin Ravindra (108 off 101 balls) and Kane Williamson (102 off 94 balls) were pivotal in achieving this target. South Africa’s bowlers, including Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, fought hard but couldn’t contain the Kiwi batsmen.

South Africa’s chase started promisingly with a strong partnership between Rassie van der Dussen and Temba Bavuma. However, Santner’s three crucial wickets, including the dismissals of van der Dussen and Bavuma, turned the tide in New Zealand’s favor. Despite David Miller’s valiant century (100 runs), South Africa fell short, ending their innings at 312/9.

New Zealand’s bowlers, including Matt Henry and Glenn Phillips, played a significant role in dismantling the South African batting lineup. Henry’s early breakthrough and Phillips’ mopping up of the tail were instrumental in securing the win.

With this victory, New Zealand advances to the final, where they will face India in Dubai on Sunday. The final promises to be an exciting clash between two cricketing giants.

Stay tuned for more updates on the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
