Odisha has achieved a major milestone in its drinking water supply programme, with 77.10 per cent of households now receiving potable water, according to Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik’s reply in the Assembly.
Out of 88.66 lakh families across the state, drinking water has reached 68.36 lakh households. The minister informed that water supply is being provided to 15,420 villages through single and multi-project schemes.
He further stated that not only households but also institutions are receiving safe drinking water under the government’s initiatives.
