President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, attended the closing ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Bharat Scouts and Guides and addressed its 19th National Jamboree in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on November 28, 2025.
The President highlighted that Bharat Scouts and Guides has guided youth for 75 years, inspiring them to participate in nation‑building. She emphasised that service remains the greatest strength of the organisation, noting its role during floods, earthquakes, and epidemics. She also praised its contribution to national unity.
Murmu pointed out that Bharat Scouts and Guides counts over 6.3 million members, making it one of the largest such organisations globally. She expressed happiness that more than 2.4 million girls are part of the movement, appreciating their discipline, dedication, and commitment to society.
The President reminded Scouts and Guides of their motto, “Be Prepared,” urging them to face challenges with confidence and determination. She encouraged them to strengthen technical skills, communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, and leadership abilities to succeed in life.
Murmu described the youth as both architects of India’s future and guardians of its cultural traditions. She compared their influence to a lamp lighting other lamps, expressing confidence that they will devote themselves to national development.
