Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Skyroot Aerospace’s Infinity Campus in Hyderabad through video conferencing and unveiled Vikram-I, the company’s first orbital rocket designed to launch satellites into orbit.

Modi highlighted the importance of this achievement, declaring, “Today, India is witnessing an unprecedented moment in the space sector. The private sector is now making a major leap in India’s space ecosystem. Skyroot’s Infinity Campus is the reflection of India’s new thinking, innovation and youth power.”

Skyroot Aerospace built the Infinity Campus as a hub for innovation and production. The facility spans 200,000 square feet and supports design, integration, and testing of launch vehicles. The company plans to produce one orbital rocket every month, strengthening India’s private space sector.

Vikram-I marks a milestone for Skyroot Aerospace. The rocket can place small satellites into orbit, offering cost-effective solutions for global clients. The company earlier succeeded with Vikram-S, India’s first privately developed sub-orbital rocket, launched in 2022.

Founders Pawan Chandana and Bharath Dhaka, both IIT alumni and former ISRO scientists, envisioned Skyroot Aerospace as a pioneer in India’s commercial space industry. Their mission aligns with the government’s vision to encourage private participation in space exploration.

The inauguration of the Infinity Campus strengthens India’s position in the global satellite launch market. With Vikram-I, Skyroot Aerospace demonstrates readiness to deliver reliable orbital missions and attract international partnerships.
