The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) held its 151st Authority Meeting today, chaired by Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Minister for Housing & Urban Development and Public Enterprises, who also serves as the BDA Chairman.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including BMC Mayor Sulochana Das, Jatni Municipality Chairman Ananta Behera, H&UD Principal Secretary Usha Padhee, RDC (Central Division) Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar, BDA Vice Chairman Chanchal Rana, and several senior BDA officials.
A highlight of the session was the announcement of the upcoming launch of the Ekamra Residency project, a flagship housing initiative by the BDA. Situated in the fast-growing Subudhipur area, this 7.36-acre development promises modern and visually appealing residences. The project comprises three towers, each with a basement, ground floor, and 12 upper floors, offering a total of 416 two-bedroom apartments and 288 three-bedroom units.
Dr Mahapatra emphasised the project’s readiness, stating, “The modalities of house allotment will be finalised soon. These projects will fulfil the ambition of people having their own home in the State Capital. The construction of houses in the project has already been completed.” Ekamra Residency is equipped with premium amenities to promote a high-quality lifestyle, including a community hall, rooftop swimming pool, walking track, commercial spaces, children’s play area, fitness centre, solar panel installations, landscaped green areas, a 100-foot approach road, and extensive basement parking for residents and visitors.
Beyond the housing project, the meeting approved several infrastructure enhancements. These include the development of a Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) road from Sani Temple in Niladri Vihar to DAV School Road in Sailashree Vihar; a 45-meter-wide CDP road connecting Guru Kelu Charan Park Square to Patia Railway Station; and another CDP road linking Nuagaon–Kateni Road to the route passing through TP-08. These initiatives underscore the BDA’s focus on improving connectivity and urban infrastructure in Bhubaneswar.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by BDA Secretary Manas Ranjan Padhy.
