Pulwama: Five militants of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba have also been neutralized while Hawaldar Kashi Kumar of 44 RR was killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in J&K’s Pulwama district.
According to police officials, After receiving credible information, a joint team of security forces (Army, Police, and CRPF) cordoned off Hanjan village in the Rajpura area and launched a search operation.
“When a team of security forces arrived at the suspect’s place, the militants in hiding opened fire. The security forces also opened fire in response. And with that, the encounter started,” the official added.
The exchange of fire between the two sides continued till the last report was received.
The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been put on high alert after the Jammu’s twin blast inside the Indian Air Force station. The case was handed over to the NIA.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police DG suggested that in the initial investigation, it seems Lashkar is behind the attack.
