In a significant breakthrough in the Odisha sub-inspector recruitment scam, the Brahmapur JMFC Rural Court granted a five-day remand for Shankar Prusty and Arabinda Das.
The Crime Branch had initially sought a seven-day remand to interrogate the duo regarding irregularities in the recruitment process.
Both accused allegedly played central roles in leaking exam papers and enabling the unfair selection of candidates. Investigators arrested them after uncovering evidence suggesting their involvement in manipulating the recruitment system.
As the investigation progresses, the Crime Branch plans to examine digital records, financial transactions, and communication logs. These efforts aim to expose the full extent of the scam and identify others connected to the network.
Meanwhile, the court’s decision to approve custodial interrogation has added momentum to the probe. Authorities now have a critical window to extract key information and trace the source of the leaked examination materials.
The SI recruitment scam has shaken public confidence in the state’s hiring procedures. Citizens have voiced growing frustration and demanded accountability from those responsible for compromising the integrity of government jobs.
Officials believe the scam may involve a broader nexus of individuals who exploited the system for personal gain. Consequently, the case has triggered calls for sweeping reforms in recruitment practices across Odisha.
As more details surface, public outrage continues to mount. The pressure is now on investigators to deliver results and restore trust in the recruitment process.
