Nuapada district officials launched home voting today for the upcoming Nuapada By-Election, enabling 251 eligible voters to cast their ballots from home.

Election teams completed commissioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) across all 358 polling booths. The process took place over three days at National College, supervised by District Collector Madhusudan Das and General Observer Prakash Bindu.

Fifteen polling teams are now deployed for home voting. Each team includes two polling officers, one micro observer, one security personnel, and one videographer. These teams will visit homes of voters aged above 85 and those with over 40% disability.

Officials confirmed that voting will be conducted confidentially through postal ballots. The home voting window spans from October 30 to November 2. Videography will document the process to ensure transparency.

Returning Officer Surmi Soren emphasized that no eligible voter will be left out. The district administration instructed all officers to guarantee full participation.

The Nuapada By-Election reflects a commitment to inclusive and transparent democratic practices. Authorities aim to uphold voter rights and ensure that even the most vulnerable citizens can exercise their franchise.
