Devotees planning to visit Puri Srimandir tomorrow will need to adjust their schedules, as the temple authorities have announced a temporary suspension of general darshan for the Banaka Lagi ritual of the Holy Trinity.
On Wednesday, October 15, 2025 – coinciding with the auspicious Kartika Krishna Navami Tithi – the sacred Banaka Lagi ritual will be performed for the holy deities of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. This traditional ritual involves the application of special herbal pastes to the deities’ wooden forms.
To facilitate the uninterrupted conduct of this ceremony, public viewing of the deities will be closed immediately after the second Bhog Mandap offering. The suspension is expected to last from approximately 6:00 PM in the evening until 10:00 PM at night.
