After a tense 48-hour suspension, internet services were fully restored across Cuttack city on Tuesday evening.
The blackout, enforced by the Home Department, had disrupted access to social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp in key areas, including CMC, CDA, and the 42 Mauza region.
Originally slated to end on October 6 at 7 PM, the suspension was extended by another 24 hours following curfew orders in response to communal unrest.
The violence erupted during a motorcycle rally organised by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on October 5, protesting an attack on a Durga idol immersion procession two days earlier.
The curfew, which lasted 36 hours, covered sensitive zones such as Dargha Bazar, Mangalabag, Cantonment, and Puri Ghat.
With the situation now under control, police continue to monitor the city, maintaining a strong presence in vulnerable pockets to ensure peace.
