A serious road accident occurred on Monday evening involving the vehicle of Odisha’s Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, leaving two bike riders injured—one critically.
The incident took place near Balma village in Deogarh district, where the Minister was en route to attend a Durga Puja celebration. According to reports, two residents of Bhalumunda village, identified as Digambar Pradhan and Pradeep Palei, were heading to the same venue on a motorcycle when they collided with the rear of the Minister’s vehicle.
Both individuals sustained injuries in the crash. They were promptly rescued and admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital. Minister Naik, after completing his official engagement, visited the hospital and consulted with doctors regarding the condition of the injured.
Due to the severity of his injuries, Digambar Pradhan was later shifted to Burla Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment. The Minister expressed concern and assured that all necessary medical support would be provided.
