In preparation for the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit to Jharsuguda on September 27, a key preparatory meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja at the conference hall in Lok Seva Bhawan.
Originally planned for Brahmapur, the program has been relocated to Jharsuguda due to forecasts of rain from the Meteorological Department.
Earlier today, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Chief Secretary Ahuja, Principal Secretary of the Works Department, and Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Higher Education Department travelled to Jharsuguda via special helicopter. They conducted a field inspection and reviewed preparations in a meeting there.
This evening, Chief Secretary Ahuja convened a meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan with secretaries from various relevant state departments and senior police officials to discuss the arrangements.
According to the latest information, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will depart from New Delhi Airport at 9:20 AM on September 27 via a special Air Force aircraft and arrive at Jharsuguda Airport at 11:10 AM. From there, he will proceed by road to the venue at Amalipali ground, arriving at 11:25 AM. At the event, the Prime Minister will lay foundation stones, inaugurate, and dedicate various projects to the nation as per the pre-scheduled plan. Following the program, he is set to return to New Delhi at 12:45 PM.
The event is expected to draw a crowd of approximately 60,000 people, including the general public, women, students, and youth. Comprehensive discussions were held on arrangements starting from Jharsuguda Airport, including security measures, temporary accommodation for the Prime Minister at the Jharsuguda guest house, stage setup at the venue as per approved guidelines, seating for VVIPs and VIPs, transportation, audience seating, carcade plan, medical facilities, road repairs, transport arrangements, uninterrupted power supply at the venue, drinking water provision, sanitation, mobile toilets, fire safety, pass system, and media publicity.
The meeting was attended by the State Development Commissioner and the Additional Chief Secretary, Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries, Information and Public Relations Department Hemant Sharma, Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, along with Principal Secretaries and Commissioner-cum-Secretaries from departments such as Works, Commerce and Transport, Higher Education, Health and Family Welfare, and senior officials from police administration and various related organizations.
From Jharsuguda, Northern Range Revenue Commissioner Sachin Ramchandra Yadav, Northern Range IG Himanshu Kumar Lal, Jharsuguda District Collector, SP, and other senior officials were present. The Northern Range IG provided updates on security arrangements, crowd management, traffic control, and parking. The Jharsuguda District Collector has been assigned overall coordination responsibilities for the preparations. As before, a control room will operate at the State Headquarters in the Home Department.
The Chief Secretary emphasised the need for appropriate planning, disciplined arrangements for crowd management, parking, and all activities. He advised all involved departments and organisations to execute their responsibilities smoothly and with due attention.
