A 13-year-old boy named Sanjay Sarkar from MV-105 village under Kalimela police station reportedly found hanging with a rope inside his home.
The tragedy occurred early in the morning when no one else was present in the house.
According to family sources, Sanjay was the youngest of three sons of Shyamal Sarkar and Shefali Sarkar. His mother, Shefali, works as a CRP (Community Resource Person) under the Mission Shakti program. On the morning of the incident, she had left home around 5 AM to attend a government event related to the Prime Minister’s “Jal Utsav” celebration.
Taking advantage of the empty house, Sanjay allegedly used a rope to hang himself from a beam. The police arrived at the scene upon receiving the report, recovered the body, and registered a case of unnatural death. After conducting a post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family.
Family members revealed that Sanjay had been suffering from partial mental health issues and would occasionally wander off without notice, prompting the family to search for him and bring him back. The police have stated that further investigation is ongoing.
