Apollo Tyres has officially won the race to become the Indian cricket team’s new jersey sponsor, striking a lucrative deal with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

A senior BCCI official confirmed on Tuesday that the deal was finalized after a bidding process held on September 16. “The deal has been signed with Apollo Tyres. We will announce it soon,” the official told PTI.

Under the new contract, Apollo Tyres will reportedly pay ₹4.5 crore per game, a significant jump from the ₹4 crore that the previous sponsor, Dream11, was paying. The sponsorship agreement will run through 2027, covering approximately 130 international fixtures across formats.

The development comes after Dream11’s contract was cut short following the enactment of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, which banned real-money gaming platforms.

According to reports, Apollo Tyres outbid competitors Canva and JK Tyre to secure the deal. Birla Optus Paints had shown interest but did not participate in the bidding process.

The new partnership will debut during India’s upcoming two-match home Test series against the West Indies, beginning on October 2. The Apollo Tyres logo will also be featured during India A’s three-match ODI series against Australia A in Kanpur.

The BCCI had earlier invited bids for new jersey sponsorship rights while also disqualifying companies associated with real-money gaming, cryptocurrency, alcohol, and certain other industries from participating in the tender process.

With this development, Apollo Tyres strengthens its presence in Indian sports sponsorships, while Team India enters a new era of jersey branding.
