Bhubaneswar: Odisha Health & Family Welfare Department has directed the district and municipal authorities to release the one-time assistance of Rs 10,000, to each ASHAs, to improve their functional efficiency for effective Covid management & facilitating non-Covid healthcare services in rural areas
Additional Chief Secretary (Health) PK Mohapatra has written to all Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, CMD & PHOs-cum-District Mission Directors in this regard.
On 17th May, Odisha Chief Minister has announced that it has been decided to provide one-time assistance of Rs 10,000, each ASHA under Swasthya Sahaya (State Budget) to enable them to undertake various activities for effective management of Covid & facilitating non-Covid essential healthcare services at the community level both in rural areas & urban slums.
ASHA may utilize the assistance amount for any/ all of the following heads:
- Purchase of bicycle (if not purchased earlier or damaged)
- Umbrella, torch chappal, water bottle, carry bag,
- Mask, sanitizer, soaps, gloves, face shield, thermal scanner, helmet
- Mini battery operated mike,
- Conveyance (POU repairing A cycle) etc
The assistance amount will be paid to each ASHA based on self-certification in the prescribed format duly signed by ASHA, mentioning that she has utilized the assistance amount towards any/all of the above said purpose, Mohapatra informed in the letter.
The Heath ACS has asked the district and municipal authorities to release the incentive amount of Rs. 10000/- to each ASHA out of available funds under in ZSS-Misc A/c, which will be recouped after receipt of funds under Swasthya Sahay.
