Governor of Odisha, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati paid a significant visit to Deomali, a picturesque tourist destination located in Kotia Gram Panchayat under Pottangi block of Koraput district.
The visit aimed to assess ongoing development initiatives and promote eco-tourism in the region.
The Governor began the tour with a ceremonial puja and tree plantation drive, followed by a walk through the newly developed cottages. He interacted warmly with local volunteers and children, taking photographs and engaging in conversations about the area’s progress.
RDC Roopa Roshan Sahoo accompanied Shri Kambhampati during the visit. In anticipation of the dignitary’s arrival, the block administration had beautifully decorated the site and organized a vibrant cultural showcase featuring traditional Koraputia bazaars and the famous Dhemsa dance.
The event was attended by Koraput District Collector Manoj Satyaban Mahajan, SP Rohit Verma, Koraput MLA Raghuram Machha, Nabarangpur MLA Rupu Bhatra, local development officer Ram Krishna Nayak, block officials, and a large number of residents from surrounding villages.
The Governor’s visit is expected to boost tourism and infrastructure development in the tribal belt, while also highlighting the cultural richness of southern Odisha.
