The iconic Jagannath Temple in Puri will remain closed to devotees for five hours tomorrow to observe Bamana Janma Niti, a sacred ritual marking the birth of Lord Vamana, the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
According to temple authorities, public darshan will be restricted from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM to facilitate the smooth conduct of special rituals for the sibling deities—Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. During this time, servitors will perform ceremonial rites, including adorning Lord Jagannath in the attire of Bali Bamana to honor the occasion.
Devotees are advised to plan their visit accordingly, as entry to Srimandir will be suspended after the Madhyahna Dhupa ritual. The temple will reopen for darshan following the completion of the Bamana Janma observances.
