Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm activities including light to moderate rain accompanied by gusty surface winds are likely to be witnessed in several places across Odisha especially coastal parts today.
According to weather forecast by the Regional Met Centre, Bhubaneswar, light to moderate rain is expected to occur over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal and some adjoining districts in next 24 hours.
Similarly, several places of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Malkangiri and Rayagada districts are likely to experience moderate to heavy rain accompanied by gusty surface winds reaching upto 40 kmph.
One or two places in parts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Gajapati districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall.
On the other hand, Cumulonimbus cloud typically associated with thunderstorm activity was observed in Bhubaneswar on Monday, Met department tweeted.
