India secured the gold medal in the women’s 50m Rifle 3-Positions team event at the Asian Shooting Championships held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
The trio—Sift Kaur Samra, Anjum Moudgil, and Ashi Chouksey—delivered a stellar performance, aggregating 1753 points to outshoot Japan (1750) and South Korea (1745).
World record holder Samra fired an exceptional 589, Ashi followed with 586, and Anjum contributed 578 to seal the top spot. Samra and Ashi also qualified for the individual final, while Anjum, a two-time Olympian, finished 22nd in a competitive field of 41 shooters.
This victory adds to India’s growing dominance in shooting sports, with Neeru Dhanda also clinching gold in the women’s trap event earlier in the week.
