Two exceptional educators from Odisha—Basanta Kumar Rana and Tarun Kumar Dash—have been selected for the prestigious National Teachers’ Award 2025, as announced by the Ministry of Education.
Basanta Kumar Rana, a teacher at Government Upper Primary School in Kondel, Malkangiri district, is celebrated for his innovative teaching methods that have transformed classroom learning. Tarun Kumar Dash, serving at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya in Koraput, has been recognized for his dedication to holistic student development.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on September 5, 2025—Teachers’ Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Each awardee will receive a certificate of merit, ₹50,000 in cash, and a silver medal.
This recognition not only honors their individual achievements but also highlights the growing excellence in Odisha’s educational landscape.
