The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Monday that it has increased passenger fares for the first time since 2017.
Commuters will now pay an additional Rs 1 to Rs 4 for most journeys, depending on the distance, with a Rs 5 increase on the Airport Express Line.
The new fare structure is as follows:
- 0-2 km: Increases from Rs 10 to Rs 11
- 2-5 km: Increases from Rs 20 to Rs 21
- 5-12 km: Increases from Rs 30 to Rs 32
- 12-21 km: Increases from Rs 40 to Rs 43
- 21-32 km: Increases from Rs 50 to Rs 54
- 32 km or more: Increases from Rs 60 to Rs 64
Despite the changes, smart card users will still receive a 10% discount on every journey. An additional 10% discount will be applied during off-peak hours, which are before 8 AM, between 12 PM and 5 PM, and after 9 PM.
