Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the ‘Rising Odisha’ conclave organised by News18, emphasising the state government’s commitment to women’s empowerment through the successful implementation of the Subhadra Yojana. He underscored that the initiative, aimed at creating 17 lakh ‘Lakhpati Didis’ (women millionaires), reflects the government’s dedication to transformative change.
In his address, CM Majhi highlighted the state’s achievements over the past 14 months, including the Samruddha Krushak Yojana, which provides an additional ₹800 per quintal of paddy, the implementation of Ayushman Bharat, and the resolution of over 90% of public grievances through 14 Jan Sunani sessions. He also emphasised advancements in education, such as the National Education Policy, Shishu Vatika for pre-schoolers, PM SHRI, PM USHA, and the Godabarish Mishra Adarsh Primary School Yojana to strengthen primary education.
The CM outlined Odisha’s strides in industrialisation through initiatives like the Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave and Odisha Textile Conclave, alongside a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. The government has facilitated over 28,000 government jobs, with processes underway for 85,000 more within the first two years. “Excellence in every field and holistic success are the need of the hour. This will lead us toward a prosperous Odisha,” Majhi stated, reaffirming the government’s vision for a developed state.
Praising News18’s role, Majhi noted its reach across 16 languages through 20 channels, particularly lauding the program *Asal Katha*, aired at 8 PM, for its insightful coverage of political, social, cultural, health, and awareness-based issues. The conclave underscored Odisha’s journey toward progress and its commitment to inclusive growth.
