In a harrowing incident that has shaken the Saintala region of Bolangir, a young man named Durbadal Bhoi was forcibly dragged from his home and tied to an electric pole before being brutally assaulted with weapons, including an axe, iron rods, and sticks.
The attack occurred late at night, prompting swift action from the Badmal outpost police, who rescued the victim and rushed him to Saintala hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital for advanced treatment.
The Saintala Police Station has registered a case [320/25] and launched a formal investigation. The victim’s mother, Bimala Bhoi, filed a written complaint alleging that Jagannath Bhoi and his relatives orchestrated the attack. In a counter-complaint, Jagannath Bhoi claimed that Durbadal had entered his home armed and attacked him.
The incident has sparked outrage and concern over escalating violence in rural communities, with calls for swift justice and deeper scrutiny into the motives behind the assault.
