Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Monday firmly cautioned an elderly applicant during a public grievance hearing after he hinted at ending his life over unresolved issues.

“Please don’t even say the word. If your complaint is genuine, justice will be delivered. That is why I am here in person to listen,” Majhi told the man, urging patience and faith in due process.

The CM’s remarks come amid a spate of self-immolation cases in Odisha, including the death of a 13-year-old girl from Bargarh district earlier the same day. She allegedly set herself ablaze while visiting her maternal uncle’s home, later succumbing to burn injuries in Burla hospital.

Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan called the Bargarh incident “deeply unfortunate,” stressing that “suicide is never a solution” and assuring that the government will take strict action against any wrongdoing. Police officers have been directed to register complaints promptly, with penalties for lapses.

Hope nothing happened to the Bodyguard post this goof up.
