Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has reportedly been barred from participating in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League following rape allegations against him.
According to a report by Dainik Jagran, Dayal was signed by the Gorakhpur Lions team for Rs 7 lakh, but the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has withheld permission for him to play due to the ongoing case.
The case emerged on August 7 when the Rajasthan High Court refused to grant Dayal protection from arrest related to charges of raping a minor. The incident reportedly dates back two years and allegedly continued during IPL 2025, with the survivor claiming Dayal promised cricketing help in exchange for sexual favors.
Justice Sudesh Bansal stated that the survivor was a minor when the alleged offense occurred. The court refused to stay proceedings or halt arrest, scheduling further hearings for August 12.
This development has led the UPCA to suspend Dayal’s participation in the upcoming T20 League until the legal process concludes.
The cricketing community awaits further updates as the case unfolds.
