Unidentified miscreants vandalized the Ward Office of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s Ward No. 45, belonging to corporator Amaresh Jena, late Saturday night.
The attackers broke into the office, damaging property including glass doors and windows before fleeing the scene.
Amaresh Jena, currently in jail for an alleged rape case, remains a controversial figure, raising questions about the motive behind the attack. Police from Laxmisagar Station have launched a thorough investigation, involving forensic teams and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
Authorities suspect the vandalism may be linked to political rivalry or personal enmity. Residents have expressed concerns over local security, while police have assured strict action against those responsible.
Jena was recently arrested by Commissionerate Police after being on the run in connection with a sexual assault case involving a minor.
