The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced a series of reforms aimed at improving the experience for devotees and ensuring discipline among servitors.
During a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Administrator Aravind Padhee, the SJTA resolved to introduce a fixed price list for Abadha and Sukhili Bhog to curb irregularities and promote transparency. Separate counters will be set up for the sale and consumption of Mahaprasad and Sukhila Bhog.
To maintain the sanctity and quality of temple offerings, the administration mandated the exclusive use of Omfed ghee in bhog preparation. Strict action will be taken against Suar and Mahasuar servitors found violating this directive.
The meeting also addressed logistical concerns, including the daily supply of 35 quintals of firewood and the proposed use of organic rice for bhog preparation. Additionally, a dress code and identity cards will be introduced for Supakar servitors’ assistants to uphold hygiene standards.
Narayan Mahasuara, secretary of the Suara-Mahasuar Nijog, confirmed that discussions also covered the functioning of newly constructed Khaja shops and firewood supply logistics.
These reforms mark a pivotal step in enhancing the spiritual and operational integrity of one of Odisha’s most revered temples.
