New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha accepted the motion thanking President Droupadi Murmu for addressing joint sitting of parliament. The upper house was adjourned sine die.
Reportedly, the Opposition MPs, including BJD MPs, staged a walkout during PM Modi’s speech in Rajya Sabha on Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address.
“In the larger interest of the State and Nation, we, the BJD MPs, staged a walkout from Rajya Sabha today during Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi’s Reply on Motion of Thanks.”, tweeted BJD’s Manas Mangaraj today.
The House was adjourned sine die after a Motion of Thanks on the President’s address was adopted.
“Seasoned members conducted them irresponsibly. Disruption erodes prestige of this esteemed institution. Even LoP walked into well of the House and that was a disgrace to Parliamentary conduct. Their walk out was extremely painful. It has set a dangerous precedent,” Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said before adjourning the House.
Yesterday, Lok Sabha witnessed unprecedented chaos as the prime minister was seen shouting while Opposition MPs screamed to drown out his voice.
