The Odisha Crime Branch has detained a teacher from Ambadola in Rayagada district in connection with the alleged leak of the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper. The teacher is reportedly associated with Dangarbori Primary School.

The Special OTET exam, scheduled for July 20, was abruptly cancelled just hours before it was set to begin, after images resembling Paper I and II surfaced on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. The sudden move disrupted plans for nearly 75,000 teaching aspirants.

Crime Branch officials are now investigating multiple angles and have begun questioning suspects across different districts. Although the detained teacher is under suspicion, no official confirmation of their involvement has been provided yet.

In response to the incident, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, transferred six officials on July 26. Authorities have assured strict action against those responsible and are working to strengthen security measures around such examinations.
