Odisha Vigilance has arrested Rama Chandra Nepak, Deputy Ranger of Jeypore Forest Range, Koraput, for possessing disproportionate assets grossly exceeding his known sources of income.
The arrest follows extensive raids under Koraput Vigilance PS Case No.25/2025. Nepak is set to be forwarded to the Court of Special Judge (Vigilance), Jeypore, today.
Recovered Assets Include:
- 💰 Rs.1.43 crore in cash
- 🏢 Multi-storeyed building, 3 flats, and 2 high-value plots
- 🪙 Gold weighing 1.504 kg and silver 4.637 kg
- 📑 Bank and financial deposits exceeding Rs 1.33 crore
- 🚗 Two four-wheelers
Vigilance officials confirm that the accused failed to justify ownership of these assets. The scale of wealth and luxury unearthed has sparked widespread public and media interest.
Further investigation is underway to trace potential links and financial conduits, with additional scrutiny into the official’s service history and affiliations.
