Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari has issued a stern counter to the opposition’s recent call for a no-confidence motion against the BJP-led state government, asserting that any such move would ultimately backfire.
Addressing media queries, Pujari responded to Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Bhakta Das’ appeal, saying that while the opposition is well within its rights to initiate a no-confidence motion, they should first evaluate their own governance history.
“They should do their homework before jumping to conclusions. Let the Congress and BJD present their 40-year performance, and we’ll showcase ours over the last year. The people will decide who stood the test,” said Pujari confidently.
He further asserted that the opposition lacks preparedness, suggesting that posing substantial questions to the government requires more than political rhetoric. “They must frame meaningful questions. Just listening to answers won’t suffice,” he quipped.
Pujari’s statements came after Bhakta Das challenged the BJD to initiate the motion, promising Congress support if the intent is genuine in advocating for women’s justice.
With the Assembly session gaining momentum, the confrontation signals a fiery political showdown, setting the stage for what could be a pivotal moment in Odisha’s legislative history.
