The Odisha government is set to launch the Mukhyamantri Bus Seva in the Kotia region of Koraput district in a significant development for South Odisha.
The move, aimed at improving public transport and boosting regional development, was confirmed by Odisha Transport and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena.
Speaking to the media, Jena reiterated the state’s firm stance on Kotia’s identity as an “integral and inseparable” part of Odisha, amid repeated claims by neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. “We are proactively countering such narratives through development initiatives. The Mukhyamantri Bus Seva will be rolled out soon to improve connectivity for locals,” he stated.
Kotia, known for its mineral wealth, houses a hill commonly referred to as “Golden Hill.” The minister highlighted efforts by the Mines Department to tap into the region’s rich resources in a sustainable manner.
The transport initiative is expected to benefit residents by easing travel difficulties and reinforcing state-sponsored development in this border region.
