Young women from remote regions in Odisha are achieving international success by harnessing the power of skill-based training, courtesy of the Skilled-in-Odisha initiative and the World Skill Centre (WSC).

Meet Anjulata Negi from Bargarh, who rose above personal tragedy to support her siblings and now works in Dubai as a facility technician with a Rs 6.15 lakh annual package. Priti Sahoo, from Keonjhar, overcame financial hardship and now earns Rs 20.16 lakh per annum at a London-based cruise company after pursuing Beauty & Wellness at WSC.

Afreen Begum, from Ganjam, trained in Vertical Transportation and now works with Johnsons Lift Company in Chennai. Meanwhile, Jasmin Kandpan from Koraput turned her interest in fashion into a full-time career as a Salon Manager, earning Rs 4.2 lakh annually.

These women are part of a powerful movement, fueled by WSC’s cutting-edge curriculum and its commitment to global standards. Over five batches, WSC has delivered 100% placement, with students joining top Indian companies and global employers.

Enrolling in skill programs from engineering to hospitality and wellness, these young women develop not only technical skills but also communication, professionalism, and leadership abilities. Women’s enrollment at WSC has surged consistently, signalling growing ambition and awareness across Odisha.

Through such stories of grit and growth, Odisha is showcasing a replicable model for women-led skill empowerment in India. The journeys of these resilient women stand as living proof that when opportunity meets intent, global dreams become achievable.
