Air India CEO Campbell Wilson has responded to the preliminary findings released by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) regarding the June 12 crash of flight AI171 in Ahmedabad, urging the public and media to refrain from premature conclusions.

Quoting the AAIB report, Wilson stated that there were “no mechanical or maintenance issues” with the Boeing 787-8 aircraft or its GE GEnx-1B engines.

“The AAIB’s initial report has identified no specific cause and has made no safety recommendations at this stage,” Wilson said, according to news agency PTI. “We continue to conduct comprehensive checks on all aircraft, and will comply fully with any further directives that may follow.”

The AAIB released its preliminary report on Saturday, noting that no immediate actions were necessary for operators of the aircraft or engine model involved.

The June 12 crash, which resulted in injuries to several passengers and crew, remains under investigation. Air India has reiterated its commitment to the highest safety standards and full cooperation with authorities.
