A Delhi court on Monday reserved its order on taking cognisance of the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) prosecution complaint against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and others in the National Herald money laundering case.
The Rouse Avenue Court, after hearing the submissions, has listed the matter for pronouncement of order on July 29.
The case pertains to alleged financial irregularities and laundering of funds in connection with the acquisition of Associated Journals Limited (AJL), the publisher of the now-defunct National Herald newspaper. The ED had earlier filed its prosecution complaint (equivalent to a chargesheet under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act) against the Congress leaders and other associated individuals.
The court’s decision on whether to take cognisance of the complaint will determine the next course of legal proceedings.
