The Mukhya Mantri Bayu Swasthya Seva, an innovative healthcare initiative by the Odisha government, is set to launch a four-day health camp in Nabarangpur district from July 7 to July 10, 2025.

This marks the return of the program after a hiatus of over one and a half years, aiming to deliver high-quality tertiary care to underserved regions by mobilizing specialists from SCB Medical College.

The camp will cater to 938 pre-screened patients, offering consultations, surgeries, and advanced diagnostic procedures in super-specialties such as Urology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, and Endocrinology.

On the first day, July 7, five senior residents—Dr. Biswajit Sahoo (Urology), Dr. Sumeet Kumar Sahu (Cardiology), Dr. Lipika Panigrahi (Nephrology), Dr. Rashmi Ranjan Patra (Gastroenterology), and Dr. Rakesh Kumar Mohanty (Neurology)—will conduct preparatory work, including complex procedures like echocardiographs and upper GI endoscopy.

On July 8, a team of six experts—Dr. Sabyasachi Panda (Urology), Dr. Jasobanta Behera (Cardiology), Dr. Aruna Acharya (Nephrology), Dr. Samir Kumar Hota (Gastroenterology), Dr. Nihar Ranjan Biswal (Neurology), and Dr. Debarchana Jena (Endocrinology)—will perform surgeries, provide consultations, and prescribe free medicines.

The district administration has ensured comprehensive arrangements, including conveyance, accommodation, food, and camp facilities like tents, water, tea, and snacks.

This initiative underscores Odisha’s commitment to making advanced medical care accessible to remote areas. By bringing super-specialized services such as laparoscopic surgeries and intricate diagnostic tests to Nabarangpur, the program aims to bridge the healthcare gap for underserved communities. Plans are underway to extend similar camps to Nuapada and Malkangiri in a phased manner, further expanding access to modern medical science.

The Mukhya Mantri Bayu Swasthya Seva reflects a proactive approach to healthcare equity, ensuring that even the most remote populations can benefit from expert medical interventions. With a focus on delivering free, high-quality care, this camp is poised to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of Nabarangpur’s residents.
