NASA, SpaceX, and Axiom Space have rescheduled the launch of the Axiom-4 (Ax-4) private astronaut mission to the International Space Station (ISS) for Wednesday, June 25, after six postponements.
The mission is now set for 2:31 a.m. EDT (12:01 p.m. IST) and will launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
The Axiom-4 crew will travel aboard a new SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, with docking to the ISS targeted for 7 a.m. EDT on Thursday, June 26. NASA stated it will share more details on launch coverage soon.
The mission, originally slated for May 29, has been delayed multiple times due to weather concerns, a liquid oxygen leak in the rocket booster, and a technical fault in the space station’s service module.
Axiom-4 will carry four astronauts: mission commander Dr. Peggy Whitson (USA), mission specialists Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski (Poland) and Tibor Kapu (Hungary), and Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla (India), who serves as the designated pilot. This marks another key step in expanding private spaceflight collaboration with international partners.
