Violent Attack on Female Student in Burla; Police Begin Investigation

A postgraduate student from Sambalpur University was found critically injured in a pool of blood near Metakani, Burla.

She sustained severe head injuries after being attacked by a group of around ten to twelve people who were travelling in two auto-rickshaws.

The attackers deboarded at the Metakani area and assaulted her, with one of them striking her head with a stone, causing severe bleeding.

The police have identified the two auto-rickshaws involved using CCTV footage and have begun identifying suspects, but no arrests have been made so far.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police have assured that the suspects will be arrested soon. The victim was shifted to the casualty ward of VIMSAR in Burla for treatment.
