IndiGo flight bomb threat

An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Leh was forced to return to the national capital and make an emergency landing following a mid-air technical issue on Wednesday morning.

The Airbus A320-251N aircraft, operating as flight 6E 2006, had 180 passengers, including crew members, on board.

The aircraft had almost reached Leh when the pilots noticed the technical glitch and turned back. The flight returned safely and landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, avoiding any injury or escalation.

According to sources, the incident is under technical review and maintenance teams are assessing the aircraft’s condition. While the airline has yet to issue a formal statement, sources indicate passengers were informed promptly and safety protocols were followed.

The emergency landing comes just a day after another IndiGo flight—from Kochi to Delhi—made an unscheduled stop in Nagpur following a bomb threat received via email. That flight was carrying 157 passengers and had arrived earlier from Muscat.

The back-to-back emergencies have raised concerns over the safety environment in civil aviation, though authorities assure that standard operating procedures are being followed vigilantly.
