Odisha Weather Alert: Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall Forecast For These Districts 

Districts under the alert include:

• Mayurbhanj

• Keonjhar

• Sundargarh

• Sambalpur

• Balasore

• Bhadrak

• Jajpur

These areas are expected to receive extremely heavy rainfall, which may cause flooding in low-lying areas, waterlogging, and traffic disruptions.

A Yellow Alert has also been sounded for the following districts:

• Jharsuguda

• Deogarh

• Dhenkanal

• Angul

• Bargarh

• Sonepur

• Boudh

These regions may face heavy showers and thunderstorms, and residents are advised to stay alert and take precautions.

The state capital has been experiencing continuous rainfall since Monday evening, affecting normal life, transport, and traffic movement. Authorities have warned of rough to very rough sea conditions, and fishermen have been barred from venturing into the sea until further notice.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) attributes the rainfall to a low-pressure area that has formed and may intensify. The system is likely to bring widespread monsoonal activity until June 20.
