Babushaan’s Bou Buttu Bhuta Released with First-Ever Midnight Screening

The midnight show, a first-of-its-kind initiative in Odia cinema, was launched as an experimental promotional tactic to heighten audience excitement. The overwhelming response at the theatre, where tickets sold out in advance, prompted organisers to extend the midnight screenings to two additional venues: Swati Cineplex in Bhubaneswar and Payal Hall in Berhampur. Fans thronged these theatres, immersing themselves in the spooky yet humorous world of Bou Buttu Bhuta as the clock struck midnight.

Adding to the fervour, Ollywood superstar Babushaan Mohanty, the film’s lead actor, made a surprise appearance at Sriya Hall’s midnight show, sending fans into a frenzy. Produced under the banner of Babushaan Films by Tripti Satpathy, Bou Buttu Bhuta has been released across 61 theatres in Odisha, aligning with the festive spirit of the Raja festival. Directed by Jagadish Mishra, the film features a stellar cast, with Babushaan Mohanty leading opposite the evergreen Archita Sahu.
