Furthering its efforts to protect the environment and promote biodiversity, Tata Steel Foundation dedicated a renovated pond for the community in Guali, near Joda, in the Keonjhar district.

This initiative will help conserve water in the region and enhance community amenities.

Kabindra Naik, Chairman, Joda Block; Bidyadhar Nayak, Sarpanch, Guali Gram Panchayat; Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, General Manager (OMQ), Tata Steel and Deepak Behera, Head, Kalmang & Gandhalpada Projects, Tata Steel, graced the occasion.

Apart from the renovation, separate bathing areas have been developed for men and women at the pond. Additionally, eco-friendly toilet facilities and sanitation amenities have been constructed near the pond.

Marking the formal dedication ceremony of the water body on World Environment Day, the steel major organised a plantation drive, involving community members, where 500 saplings were planted.

Tata Steel Foundation has been contributing to the development of the Guali and Kalmang regions in various sectors, including education, health, community development, drinking water, solar energy, infrastructure, and skill development.
